Most tanning lamps have an operational lifespan of 600-800 hours. Life expectancy of the tubes can be influenced by the age of the sunbed, the type of cooling system inherit to the bed or exposure to unexpected power cuts (like loadshedding).
Very simply, look for the tube model name and voltage rating on the end of the tube.

A good rule of thumb is to replace your tubes after approximately 600 operational hours.
Most of our sunbeds have built-in hour counters to monitor the total operational usage. If your bed does not have one of these, simply perform a plaster test during your next session to determine the efficacy of the tubes.
How to perform the plaster test:
Place a plaster on an area that you tan fastest. Do between 1-2 tanning sessions and remove the plaster to see if you are still ranning. If not, your tubes need to be replaces.
